Temporary Fuel and Trip Permits

Temporary Fuel Permit - When drivers wish to travel to a location in which they are not licenced, fuel permits are required if a carrier does not have the IFTA credentials or a fuel permit for the state(s) that will be traveled through. Carriers must secure a temporary fuel permit prior to entering a jurisdiction for which they are not properly permitted.

Temporary Trip Permit - When drivers wish to travel to a location in which they are not licenced, they must obtain a trip permit before entering that jurisdiction. The trip permit is a temporary permit issued in lieu of IRP credentials for properly registered vehicles.
